Start with both the summary and the forms
An annual platform summary and a tax information form serve different purposes. Keep the available documents together, by platform and year, so your preparer can compare them with other records.
Where to get the documents
Uber
Use Tax Information in the US driver dashboard, or the Tax Info area in your Driver app. Follow Uber’s current instructions for the year you need.

Use the Tax Center in your Driver Dashboard to download available forms and the annual summary. Lyft also explains access for deactivated accounts.
Open Lyft’s tax helpWhat the names mean
| Document | What to discuss |
|---|---|
| Annual summary | A breakdown of platform activity, earnings and reported costs. Keep it even when no 1099 is issued. |
| Form 1099-K | Payment information to consider with other records when determining what belongs on a return. |
| Form 1099-NEC | Where issued, nonemployee compensation information. Lyft distinguishes non-ride payments such as bonuses from ride payments. |
Why gross totals and payouts can differ
Lyft explains that ride-payment totals may include fees and taxes, so they can exceed the money deposited in your bank. Compare the summary, forms and payout records; ask your preparer how amounts reconcile rather than treating every number as additional income.
Missing, duplicated or incorrect information?
Keep the available statements and note the issue. IRS guidance explains that income-reporting responsibilities do not disappear solely because a form was not received. Use official platform support for corrections and bring the question to your preparer.
