Where should I begin?
Use Get Started to choose the kind of help you need and create a preparation plan. It asks about services, years and platforms, not your name, taxpayer ID or financial amounts.
Can I use this if driving is a side job?
Yes. The preparation path includes driving alongside a regular job. Let your tax professional know about all work and other relevant income.
What if this is my first year?
Start with the document checklist and note anything you do not yet have. Bring your questions to the preparer before deciding on the service scope.
Do I need records from both Uber and Lyft?
If you worked on both, gather the available year-end documents from both. Keep other platform and income records available for the same review.
Open the forms guideWhere do I find my Uber documents?
Uber directs US drivers to Tax Information in the driver dashboard and Tax Info in the app. The forms guide links to Uber’s current instructions.
Open the forms guideWhere do I find my Lyft documents?
Use the Tax Center in your Lyft Driver Dashboard for available tax documents and your annual summary. The forms guide links to Lyft’s instructions.
Open the forms guideWhat if I did not receive a 1099?
A missing information form does not by itself remove the responsibility to report income. Bring your other records and ask your preparer what is needed.
Open the forms guideWhy can a platform total be higher than my bank deposits?
Some platform figures describe gross customer payments before fees and other adjustments. Gather the summary and payout records together for review rather than assuming they describe the same number.
Open the forms guideDoes the checklist upload my documents?
No. It marks record categories as ready in this tab. It has no file upload, no financial entry and no connection to a client account.
Open the forms guideWhat does tax preparation cost?
Fees are being finalized. The pricing page explains the information needed to define a quote. No price, discount or package is implied by using the planner.
Are federal and state returns both included?
That must be stated in the engagement and quote. Ask about each tax year, state or other jurisdiction that may be involved.
Is bookkeeping included with filing?
Do not assume that it is. Ongoing records work, historical cleanup, quarterly reviews and return preparation should each be identified in the agreed scope.
Can this website calculate what I should pay?
No. It helps organize records and questions. Your payment amount needs a review of your circumstances and the applicable instructions.
Which mileage rate should I use?
Use the official rules for the tax year and dates involved with your tax professional. The mileage guide links to the IRS rather than applying one fixed rate to every trip.
What if I have a rental, lease or more than one vehicle?
Collect the relevant vehicle records and explain the changes to your preparer. Eligibility and prior vehicle choices can affect how expenses are treated.
Can I sign in to Shuug today?
The firm’s private client workspace is not connected to this public site yet. The Client Portal page shows its current availability; it does not accept passwords.
Is Drake required?
No. Shuug is the business workspace. If the firm uses an external filing engine such as Drake, that is a separate service and will be clearly identified.
Can I send sensitive documents by ordinary email?
Wait for verified instructions from your tax professional and use the approved private channel. General contact messages should not include taxpayer IDs, bank details or tax documents.
Do you guarantee a refund?
No. Outcomes depend on your facts and applicable rules. Financial illustrations are not a quote or promise of a result.
How do I verify the person preparing my return?
Ask about the preparer’s qualifications, contact details, engagement terms and review process. Our resources link to the IRS guide to choosing a preparer.
